Answers to customer feedback autumn 2024

We conducted a customer feedback survey at the end of the year 2024. We received around 140 answers and want to thank everyone who answered! The average grade for CampusSport’s services was 4,24 (on a scale of 1 to 5). We are happy to receive feedback anytime. You can give us feedback, for example, by sending an email to info@campussport.fi or leaving a message via the feedback form on our website.

There is a bad bumbbell selection at Roddis when it comes to weights between 10-20 kg.

Both the space and the equipment budget are limited at the gyms. Therefore, it is not possible to have dumbbells of all sizes available. We have the following dumbbells:

  • Between 1 kg and 10 kg: 1 kg, 2 kg, 3 kg etc.
  • Between 10 kg and 30 kg: 12,5 kg, 15 kg, 17,5 kg, 20 kg etc.
  • Between 35 kg and 50 kg: after approx. each 5 kg

New 11 kg dumbbells have just been ordered to Roddis to replace the broken ones.

Could I get this or that equipment to this or that gym?

When buying new equipment to the gyms, we always consider the big picture, i.e. all five CampusSport gyms and their equipment. It is not possible to buy everything for every gym, but the total of five gyms covers a large part of the needs for gym training.

Could you offer more badminton shifts in Educarium after 5 pm on weekdays?

Unfortunately that is not possible. Most of our customers want to use the sports services on weekdays at 4 pm-8 pm, so we want to offer shifts with bigger maximum participant amounts than badminton in Educarium.

There should be shifts in Iskeri also on the weekends because it is the only sports hall with table tennis shifts.

CampusSport’s lease covers only the weekdays because Iskeri’s owner uses the sports hall during the weekends. You can inquire single weekend reservations in Iskeri (40 € / hour): janne.ollila@gmail.com or 040 763 6961.

There should be more instructed shifts in Educarium and Iskeri. Sport Sirkka’s location is not very good for many people.

CampusSport offers also ball sport shifts and they require a high space that is available in Educarium and Iskeri. On the other hand, certain classes are possible to organise only in Sport Sirkka due to the low ceiling and the mirrors.

It is a shame that pilates classes are not held in Educarium instead of Sport Sirkka so that everyone who wanted could join. In addition, some classes start already at 2 pm, which is too early for personnel of the universities.

We have had pilates and yoga classes in Educarium but the feedback has been that Sport Sirkka would be better because of the intimacy of the space and the better equipment.

CampusSport offers over 100 hours of instructed classes and ball sport shifts each week. We have approx. 40 instructors. In addition, some of the shifts can be organised only in a certain sports hall. For these reasons, putting the sports schedule together is quite a puzzle. Some of the shifts have to start early in the afternoon so that we are able to offer as many shifts as possible.

I like using CampusSport’s services but in my opinion the new users are given too much attention. The shifts aren’t hard enough and the instructors explain everything at the beginning of each class, instead of just giving the instructions at the beginning of the semester. Beginners shouldn’t be at the focus and the more experienced customers should also get attention.

CampusSport is funded and organised by the universities and it aims at supporting work and study abilities. The goal is that as many students or staff members as possible would start exercising regularly. For these reasons we focus on services that make it easier for people to start exercising. We want that people are able to join the shifts even at the middle of the semester and try out new shifts every week. Our instructors do exactly as they have been instructed to do when they go over the instructions at the beginning of each class instead of assuming that everyone knows them.

We offer a wide range of classes with different levels. We use levels 1-3 in each sports category. The goal is to help our customers to evaluate how hard the class is going to be. For those who want to do a hard workout, we recommend level 3 shifts. You can also make level 1 or 2 shifts more challenging by adding more weights, doing more repetitions or asking the instructor for more challenging movements.

Why isn’t it possible to reserve a queue slot to all the classes (e.g. Tuesday’s barre)?

Whenever slots can be reserved in advance, there are also queue slots available. The amount of the queue slots is limited, so if you are not able to reserve a queue slot, it means that also the queue slots are full.

Would it be possible to have more time between the classes at Educarium? The dressing rooms are often completely full.

The classes held in the sports hall and the classes held in the gymnastics hall already start at different times. It is unfortunately not possible to plan the sports schedule so that there would be more time between the classes held in the sports hall. We have so many customers that we have to use the facilities efficiently. In order to prevent the participants of the previous class to be in the dressing room at the same time as the participants of the following class, we advice our customers to be ready to enter the sports hall immediately after the previous class ends.

There are no lockers that work with coins available for women anymore since the dressing room where all those lockers are was changed into a unisex dressing room.

Unisex dressing room can be used by all genders so as a woman you can use the dressing room and the lockers in it. There are also some coin lockers available at the corridor next to the gym entrance.

Unfair to ban people for 2 weeks after 2 unattended classes that were missed in different weeks. Life happens sometimes, we pay the fee we should be able to use the services.

Two unused reservations lead to an automatic two-week reservation ban. Reservation ban is not the same thing as a ban from using the services. You can still use the services, and all your old reservations are still valid. All weekly shifts can also be attended without advance booking. 70 % of available places in each shift can be pre-reserved through the electronic reservation system. The remaining places are available on a first come, first served basis.

It would be nice if there were more of the most popular classes in the schedule, e.g. barre. The slots are always reserved in minutes.

CampusSport’s goal is to offer versatile sport services. Every now and then some sports become more popular than others but we do not want to become a Barre studio, a dance school or a volleyball club at the expense of the other sports. We follow the amounts of the participants in each shift and make additions to the following sports schedule, if it is possible.

It would be great if CampusSport could co-operate with Kiipeilypalatsi (climbing) so that students would get a discount.

Good news: this member benefit already exists. Those who have paid CampusSport’s sports fee get to go climbing at Kiipeilypalatsi for 10 € / person (includes harness and shoes hire as well as instructions in Finnish or English). All the member benefits are available on the page Member benefits.

Would it be possible for students who study e.g. in Oulu to use CampusSport’s services?

We do not have enough space in our sports facilities to cater to students from other cities. Only the enrolled students and staff members of the University of Turku, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Åbo Akademi University and Novia University of Applied Sciences can use CampusSport’s services.

Would it be possible to change the sports ball shifts policies so that only one of the participants needs to have paid the sports fee and others could pay a single visit fee?

That is not possible at least for the time being. The only exception are the regular shifts. At least 50 % of the users of the shift must study in or work for one of the universities in Turku. More information about the shifts is available on the page Facilities for rent.
