Safer space guidelines
The purpose of these guidelines is to prevent inappropriate behaviour such as harassment, bullying and discrimination in all CampusSport’s facilities, shifts and events. In addition, the guidelines help both the customers and the staff members to intervene with inappropriate behaviour. We require that all our customers commit to following the guidelines.

1. We respect each other
- We let everyone train in peace.
- We use respectful language.
- We ask for permission before taking photos, filming or recording.
- We are respectful also on social media.
- We give advice and comments only if asked. Nevertheless, we do not hesitate to help if someone is at risk of hurting theirself.
2. Other people’s bodies are none of our business
- We do not touch others without permission.
- We do not comment on other people’s bodies or appearance.
- We do not bother people by staring at them.
3. We avoid making assumptions
- We cannot know anyone’s experiences, thoughts, life situation, sexuality, gender, nationality, culture, language, religion, values, health status or functional ability based on their appearance, manner of speaking or other behaviour.
- We evaluate critically the assumptions we make about others. We treat assumptions only as assumptions – not as facts.
4. We learn from our mistakes
- We all make mistakes and may violate the safer space guidelines. If this happens, we take responsibility for our mistake. We apologise and, if needed, change the way we behave.
- We understand that everyone has a right to their personal boundaries. People react differently to different kind of behaviour.
5. We intervene with inappropriate behaviour
- We interrupt the situation. We can, for example, say calmly something like “What you are saying/doing feels offensive” or question the person’s behaviour by asking “Why are you doing that?”
- We make sure that the person who has been subjected to the inappropriate behaviour is not left alone with what happened.
- We inform a staff member or a harassment contact person.
- In situations where physical safety is at risk, we call the emergency number 112.
6. If you are subjected to inappropriate behaviour
- You have the right to ask the person to stop.
- If you want to, you can leave the situation. Everyone has the right to walk away.
- If you are able, ask other people present for help.
- Do not hesitate to contact CampusSport’s staff.
